He didn't call whites supremacists white people, if you listen to the rest of the sentence, he was referring to the protesters from BOTH sides that they are fine people. And then said that he condemns neo Nazis and white supremacists. I only came across this this morning btw, and I too believed he really did call them fine people.. EDIT: watch this whole thing [VIDEO]

Just to add, here's the full clip - [VIDEO] I think everyone should watch this for themselves and decide whether the media's portrayal of what Trump said is reasonable and fair.

See, that's the sort of thing he's talking about precisely. You've already made your mind up about Trump's comment, and detracted the conversation entirely. Next thing you know, you and other Twitter users all make a big hoo-ha about a relatively benign comment because you think it's offensive, and decide to report it to Twitter for it to get banned. There is nothing hateful about his statements, and you really should re-evaluate your critical reasoning (or news sources, if you took them for their word on it rather than evaluating it yourself) if you think it does. Here, just look at it in its entirety: [VIDEO] Case in point: "And I'm not talking about the neo-nazis and white supremacists, because they should be condemned totally" Moving back. Political speech , commentary, opinions and debate need to be uncensored entirely , no exceptions, if you are to have a democratic society. Otherwise, you're just thought-policing people into thinking/acting into the norm. Sure, harassing someone over a political view won't fall under that, but the key qualifier there is "harassing". I'd go so-far as to say that any platform that is open to the public needs to be punished for silencing any sort of political speech. That is undemocratic, for lack of a better word. Because it shuts-down general debate.

You might want to recheck Trump’s approval ratings. Oh and the “Trump Defends White Nationalists” trope? Here’s the video [1] and here’s the quote; “You had some very bad people in the group. But you also had people, that were very fine people, on both sides.... So you know what, you’re changing history, you’re changing culture, and you had people, and I’m not talking about the neo-nazis or the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally , but you had many people in that group other than neo-nazis and white nationalists, okay, and the press has treated them absolutely unfairly.” If you have an issue with DACA maybe talk to your congressman. Trump’s been trying to get a legal fix for DACA for months now. As far as TPS is concerned, maybe the “T” doesn’t stand for what I think it does, but 2001-2018 seems pretty generous for the Salvadorans. Unless you’re telling me those countries are still too ravaged from natural disasters over a decade ago to return to? But I’ll stand by the assertion that while we do have borders and we do enforce immigration law, we also provide entry for half a million immigrants a year. It seems like you’re claiming that because you can cite a specific special interest that isn’t being granted special citizenship outside the legal system that has existed for decades, therefore the doors are closed and that’s somehow xenophobic. I personally think that’s inaccurate and perhaps hyperbolic. While you’re entitled to your opinion, I think a

> Didn't Trump recommended people drink or inject bleach? No, he didn't, listen to what he actually said. [LINK] It's not a claim, it's an arguably stupid question to some guy off-screen. Yet, the title of this video is "President Trump claims injecting people with disinfectant could treat coronavirus". The outlet is the presumably reputable "Telegraph". Trump also never called Nazis "fine people". What actually was said: "...you had very fine people on both sides..." [VIDEO] "And you had people - and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists - because they should be condemned totally." [VIDEO] The job of the media is to fabricate outrage and scandals, because that's how you get attention. Trump doesn't even mind, in fact he is taking advantage of it: [LINK] Remember when he "accidentally" mistook WWI for WWII in some press conference? The headline: "Another dumb thing that Trump said!" However, it's a mistake that anybody - particularly average Joe - could've made. It's not really that negative, in fact it could be endearing to some people. More importantly though, that headline is going to take attention away from actually negative news, such as "over a thousand American Coronavirus deaths occuring every day". So, if you think Trump is really that stupid, maybe you're not really that smart.

>I have personally watched a press conference where Trump said that live on TV in front of millions of people. Thank you for bringing this up. This is the press conference: [VIDEO] At time 1:58 Pres. Trump specifically excludes neo-nazis and white nationalists from his 'fine people' description: "And I'm not talking about the neo-nazis and white nationalists because they should be condemned totally." [VIDEO] You're experiencing a false memory, which is completely normal for anyone, even intelligent, well informed and accomplished people. It's my personal opinion that this false memory was implanted in millions of people by corporate media and big tech.
