I haven't ever done anything too significant in Haskell, but the Jekor Redo [1] videos are fantastic, and demonstrate the slow building up of more complicated things than "reverse this string." I haven't watched his xmonad [2] or pandoc [3] videos yet, but I would bet that they are highly worthwhile as well. - 1: [VIDEO] - 2: [LINK] - 3: [LINK]

There's definitely a stage when you want to graduate from bottom-up tinkering & learning the underlying concepts to making things -- this is where I feel there's a big gap in the haskell materials right now. There's some great screncasts though which have been helpful. Chris Forno (jekor) made an implementation of djb's redo in Haskell. The videos of him live coding it are on YouTube, and I recommended it for anyone wanting to learn Haskell. [VIDEO]
